About the Event

Let your ears soak in the mystery and wonder of the lands of stories. This story telling will be the first one of its kind from Nana, as she takes inspiration from her teacher Shonaleigh Cumbers, the last Drutsyla - a Jewish tradition bearer who carries 3000 oral stories from her grandmother, Edith Marks. A women's oral storytelling tradition which is thousands of years old.

Now Nana, with the permission and guidance of Shonaleigh is weaving old Bulgarian stories togetger to create a tapestry of tales, each strand connected to an other one. A new tradition is being formed.

'On the lowest fold of a seven folded heaven, there is a palace made entirely of gold.'

Meet the Sun, the old knowing and all seing who wants to marry, but who can he take for his bride, does his bride wish to marry him? Meet Gororoden, Forestborn, who goes on a quest to the Sun's palace to meet with the Sun.

Meet the Samodivi, who dance on the mountains, who bathe in the rivers and who know the secrets of the herbs and the land. They are not ordinary women, they do not tend a house, nor do they raise children. They are the wild women of the forest.

"I have never heard anything like that, a whirlwind of emotions and senses, such a journey you took us on"
