Story Walk Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms
These terms apply to all story walks run by Nana Tomova Storyteller ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a place, you agree to them.

2. Booking
2.1 Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. You will receive a confirmation with the date, start time and meeting point.
2.2 Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
2.3 Tickets can be transferred to another person if you tell us beforehand. Tickets cannot be resold.
2.4 Gift vouchers can be used to book story walks, subject to the Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions.

3. Cancellations by you
3.1 We require at least 72 hours' notice if you cannot attend. Please contact us at www.nanatomova.com/contact
3.2 If you give at least 72 hours' notice, [we will transfer your booking to another walk / we will refund your ticket / you may choose either].
3.3 If you cancel with less than 72 hours' notice, or do not turn up, we cannot offer a refund or transfer.
3.4 If you arrive late, we may not be able to wait, and no refund will be given.

4. Cancellations and changes by us
4.1 Your safety comes first. We may change the route or cancel a walk because of severe weather (for example high winds, storms, ice or flooding), unsafe ground conditions or low numbers [minimum numbers: 4].
4.2 We will tell you as early as possible, and by [time] on the day at the latest. If we cancel, you can choose to transfer to another date or receive a full refund.
4.3 Walks usually go ahead in light rain or cold weather, so please dress for the conditions.
4.4 We are not responsible for any travel, accommodation or other costs you incur if a walk is cancelled.

5. What to expect
5.1 Story walks are guided outdoor storytelling events on paths, tracks and uneven ground. Walks are around 3 hours at a gentle pace with regular stops for stories.
5.2 Please check the route and terrain details in the event listing before booking, and let us know in advance about any access needs so we can discuss what is possible.
5.3 We will do our best to be flexible, but some routes may not be suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or those with limited mobility.

6. What to bring and how to behave
6.1 Please wear sturdy, waterproof footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. We recommend bringing water and [a snack / a flask].
6.2 Please follow the guide's instructions at all times and keep to the group.
6.3 We follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Please respect the land, wildlife and other path users, leave no litter and close gates behind you.
6.4 We may ask anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk or spoils the experience to leave the walk without refund.

7. Children and dogs
7.1 Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, who remains responsible for their safety and behaviour. [Suitable for ages 10 and over. Not all events are suitable for children, please enquire ahead of time if unsure]
7.2 Dogs are generally not welcome. If you have a guide dog, please get in touch to enquire. If approved for attendance, dogs must be kept on a lead and under control, and owners are responsible for them.

8. Health and safety
8.1 You take part at your own risk and are responsible for making sure you are fit enough for the walk. Please tell us beforehand about any medical conditions that may affect you, and carry any medication you need.
8.2 We carry out a risk assessment for each route and have public liability insurance.
8.3 Please look after your own belongings. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

9. Photography and recording
We may take photos or short recordings during walks to share on our website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear, please tell us at the start of the walk. Please do not record or film the stories without our permission, as the stories and their tellings are protected by copyright.

10. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Otherwise, we are not liable for loss or injury arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

11. Our right to change terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the date of booking apply to your booking.

12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

13. Risk

Any information provided by me on such matters as climate, weather, environmental conditions, clothing, transport and special equipment is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of the event host. It is a fundamental condition of this contract that you accept the hazards involved when undertaking outdoor activities.

Hiking and outdoor adventures are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. By booking a course in these activities you are aware of and accept these risks and will be responsible for your own actions and involvement. The event leader will teach you how to manage these risks, however, I can never completely remove them. You confirm that you are familiar with the nature of the activity that you wish to undertake and acknowledge those risks.

The event leader assumes no responsibility for anyone attending this event. The event leader will not be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss occurring as a result of any event or in connection with travel to such event, however caused.

When you join a Story Walk, you indicate that you accept these conditions and accept that no legal liability is accepted by the event host in the event of accident or injury, however caused.

Participants in Story Walks are reminded that outdoor activities need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc), a list of equipment for you to bring will be provided to you.

While accepting no responsibility or liability, for outdoor events, the event host may, at their discretion, not admit you to join the walk or other event if in their opinion you are ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions.

If, in the opinion of the event leader, the health, fitness, psychological condition, behaviour or equipment of a participant may compromise the safe provision of the outdoor activities specified as part of this contract, or in the event that that participant’s behaviour is considered unacceptably disruptive to the prejudice of other members of the group, the event host reserve the right to cancel or terminate your contract. In these circumstances you will not be entitled neither to a refund nor compensation.

If a participant suffers from a medical condition that may affect their, or other people’s safety or enjoyment of an outdoor activity, you must disclose this at the time of booking on the pre-event questionnaire. By coming on a Story Walk you certify that you have not been advised not to take part by a medical professional.

If a participant leaves any part of a programme, undertakes independent activities during the programme, or acts contrary to the safety advice and instruction given by the programme leader, the host is not responsible or liable for their actions or their safety. Participants may also be asked to leave the activity if their actions compromise their own safety, or that of other members of the group or the programme leader.

Any participant under the influence or recent influence of alcohol or any form of narcotic substance, legal or otherwise, may be dismissed from the group at the discretion of the event leader.

Terms and Conditions for Online Events

Please take the time to read through these terms and conditions before you confirm your booking. By booking, you agree to them.

1. Booking
1.1 Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. You will receive a confirmation email with the date, start time and joining details.
1.2 Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
1.3 Your place is for one person only, unless the event listing says otherwise. Joining links must not be shared with anyone who has not booked.
1.4 Gift vouchers can be used to book online events, subject to the Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions.

2. If You Cancel
2.1 If you cancel more than 72 hours before the start of the event, you can choose a full refund (minus booking site fees) or to be re-booked onto one of my next events of the same value.
2.2 If you cancel less than 72 hours before the start, you will be given a 75% refund.
2.3 If you cancel less than 48 hours before the start, you will be given a 50% refund.
2.4 If you cancel less than 24 hours before the start, you will be given a 25% refund.
2.5 If you do not attend without letting me know, I'm afraid I will not be able to offer you a refund.
2.6 To cancel, please email me at [email address]. The time of your cancellation is the time I receive your email.
2.7 Where a booking was paid for with a gift voucher, any refund will be given as a replacement voucher with the same expiry date, not as cash.

3. If I Cancel
3.1 If I need to cancel an event, you will have the option of a full refund or being booked onto a future event of the same value.
3.2 I will not refund any incidental expenses you may have incurred as a result of the cancellation.

4. If I Make a Change
4.1 I will do the utmost to deliver services in accordance with what has been confirmed to you, but I reserve the right to make unavoidable alterations or cancellations to services. You will be advised of any alterations as soon as possible.
4.2 If it is a major change which significantly alters the nature of your experience, you will have the choice of accepting the change, accepting an alternative experience, or receiving a refund.

5. Joining the Event
5.1 Events are held online on Zoom. You will need a device with a stable internet connection, (and for courses requiring participation a working microphone and speaker, and a camera. You are responsible for your own equipment and connection.
5.2 Please join a few minutes before the start time. Late arrivals may miss part of the event, and no refund will be given.
5.3 I will do my best to deal with technical problems on my side. If an event cannot go ahead because of a fault on my side, clause 3 applies. I cannot offer refunds for problems with your own equipment, internet connection or software.
5.4 If an event is interrupted for a short time by technical issues, I will resume it as soon as I can.

6. Behaviour
6.1 Please be respectful of me and of other participants. I reserve the right to remove anyone from an event whose behaviour I consider disruptive, offensive or harmful to others, and no refund will be given.
6.2 Please create a quiet, private space where you can join the event without interruptions, and be aware that other participants may be able to see or hear what is in your background.

7. Recording, Copyright and Privacy
7.1 Events may be recorded for sharing with participants / my own use, as per the event description. I will tell you at the start if this is happening. If you would prefer not to appear in a recording, you can switch off your camera and microphone or use a different display name.
7.2 Please do not record, screenshot, copy or share any part of an event, or the stories told in it, without my written permission. The stories and their tellings are protected by copyright.
7.3 Any personal information you give me will be used only to run the event and communicate with you about it, in line with my privacy policy.

8. Health and Wellbeing
8.1 Some events involve personal reflection, and you take part according to your own comfort. You are free to step away at any time. Online events are creative and cultural experiences and are not medical treatment, counselling or therapy.
8.2 Please let me know in advance if you have any access needs so I can discuss what is possible.

9. Liability
9.1 I do not exclude or limit my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9.2 I will deliver events with reasonable care and skill. Otherwise, I am not liable for loss or damage caused by events outside my reasonable control, such as power or internet failures, or faults with third-party platforms.

10. My Right to Change These Terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the date of booking apply to your booking.

11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

Terms and Conditions for Live, In-Person Events

Please take the time to read through these terms and conditions before you confirm your booking. By booking, you agree to them.

1. Booking and Tickets
1.1 Bookings are confirmed once payment is received. You will receive a confirmation with the date, start time and venue details.
1.2 Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
1.3 Tickets can be transferred to another person if you let me know beforehand. Tickets cannot be resold.
1.4 Gift vouchers can be used to book live events, subject to the Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions.
1.5 Please bring your confirmation (printed or on your phone) and be ready to give your name at the door.

2. If You Cancel
2.1 If you cancel more than 72 hours before the start of the event, you can choose a full refund (minus booking site fees) or to be re-booked onto one of my next events of the same value.
2.2 If you cancel 72 hours or less before the start of the event, I'm afraid I will not be able to offer a refund or re-booking, as venue and other costs will already have been committed. You are welcome to transfer your place to another person instead (see 2.3).
2.3 You can transfer your ticket to another person at any time before the event, free of charge. Please email me at [email address] with their name so I can update the booking. Tickets cannot be resold.
2.4 If you do not attend without letting me know, I'm afraid I will not be able to offer a refund.
2.5 To cancel, please email me at [email address]. The time of your cancellation is the time I receive your email.
2.6 Where a booking was paid for with a gift voucher, any refund will be given as a replacement voucher with the same expiry date, not as cash.

3. If I Cancel or Make a Change
3.1 If I need to cancel an event, you will have the option of a full refund or being booked onto a future event of the same value.
3.2 I will do the utmost to deliver events as confirmed to you, but I reserve the right to make unavoidable changes, such as to the venue, running order or performers. You will be told as soon as possible.
3.3 If a change significantly alters the nature of your experience, you can choose to accept it, accept an alternative event, or receive a refund.
3.4 I will not refund any incidental expenses you may have incurred as a result of a cancellation or change, such as travel or accommodation.
3.5 If an event cannot go ahead because of circumstances outside my reasonable control (for example severe weather, venue closure, power failure, illness of the performer or an emergency), clauses 3.1 and 3.4 apply.

4. Arrival and Entry
4.1 Doors open 15 min before the event, and the event starts at the described time in the vent description. Please arrive in good time.
4.2 Latecomers may be asked to wait until a suitable break before they are admitted, so as not to disturb the performance. No refund will be given if you miss part of an event.
4.3 Events have a limited capacity set by the venue, and I may refuse entry if the venue is full.

5. The Venue and Access
5.1 Events are held at venues run by third parties. Please follow the venue's own rules and any instructions from staff.
5.2 Please check the access information in the event listing. If you have access needs, let me know in advance and I will discuss what is possible with you and the venue. I cannot guarantee that every venue will be fully accessible.
5.3 Seating is unreserved. Refreshments are sometimes available, as per event description.

6. Age Restrictions and Children
6.1 Events are suitable for specific ages. Please check the event listing, as some stories contain themes that are not suitable for young children.
6.2 Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, who remains responsible for their safety and behaviour.

7. Behaviour
7.1 Please be respectful of me, the venue and other audience members. Please switch off or silence mobile phones.
7.2 I, or the venue, may ask anyone to leave whose behaviour is disruptive, offensive or unsafe, and no refund will be given.
7.3 Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to a degree that affects the event or other people may be refused entry or asked to leave, without refund.

8. Health and Safety
8.1 Please look after yourself and your belongings. I am not responsible for loss or damage to your personal property.
8.2 Please follow instructions from the venue staff in the event of an emergency or evacuation.
8.3 If you take part in participatory elements of an event, you do so according to your own comfort and ability, and you are free to step back at any time.
8.4 If you have a medical condition that may affect your safety or that of others during an event, please let me know beforehand so I can discuss it with you.

9. Photography, Recording and Copyright
9.1 I may take photographs or short recordings at events to share on my website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear, please tell me when you arrive and I will do my best to avoid including you.
9.2 Please do not photograph, film or audio-record any part of an event, or the stories told in it, without my written permission. The stories and their tellings are protected by copyright.

Terms and Conditions for Gift Vouchers

1. About these terms
These terms apply to all gift vouchers purchased from Nana Tomova Storyteller ("we", "us", "our"). By purchasing or redeeming a voucher, you agree to them.

2. What the voucher covers
Vouchers can be redeemed against:

Group sessions: a place for one person at a scheduled group session.
Private sessions: a session booked for a private group (for example a family, friend group or workplace) at a date and time agreed with us.
1:1 sessions: an individual session with Nana Tomova.

Vouchers are issued either for a specific session type or as a monetary value. The voucher will state which.

3. Validity
3.1 Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date is shown on the voucher.
3.2 The session must take place on or before the expiry date. Any bookings confirmed before the expiry date for a session held after it will be honoured.
3.3 Once expired, a voucher has no value and cannot be extended, reinstated or exchanged, except at our discretion.

4. Non-refundable
4.1 Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, in whole or in part.
4.2 We are not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or copied vouchers. Please keep yours safe. We may ask for proof of purchase before replacing one.
4.3 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including any right to cancel an online purchase within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, provided the voucher has not been redeemed.

5. Using your voucher
5.1 To redeem, contact us at www.nanatomova.com/contact and quote the voucher code. All bookings are subject to availability.
5.2 Vouchers can be used by someone other than the original purchaser but cannot be resold.
5.3 If a voucher is for a monetary value, it can be used in part. Any balance remains valid until the original expiry date. If the session costs more than the voucher, the difference must be paid by the customer. No change is given if it costs less.
5.4 If a voucher is for a specific session type, it cannot be exchanged for a different type (for example, a group session voucher cannot be used for a 1:1 session) unless we agree, and any difference in price must be paid.
5.5 Group session vouchers cover one place per voucher. Private session vouchers cover the session fee only, up to the group size stated at the time of purchase [and exclude travel, venue hire or other costs, if applicable].
5.6 Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash or used to buy other vouchers.

6. Cancellations and rescheduling
6.1 If we cancel or reschedule a session, your voucher remains valid. We will offer you an alternative date, and where that falls after the expiry date we will extend the voucher to cover it.
6.2 Group sessions: please give at least 72 hours days notice if you cannot attend. With notice, we will move your place to another session where possible. Without notice, the voucher is forfeited.
6.3 Private and 1:1 sessions: please give at least 72 hours notice to reschedule. Late cancellations or non-attendance may mean the voucher is forfeited.
6.4 We will always try to be flexible if something unavoidable happens, but this is at our discretion.

7. Our right to change terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the date of purchase apply to your voucher.

8. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

Book Sales Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms
These terms apply to all books bought from the website of Nana Tomova Storyteller ("I", "me", "my"). By placing an order, you agree to them.

2. Orders and Prices
2.1 All prices are in pounds sterling (£)
2.2 Your order is accepted when I send you a dispatch confirmation. I may decline or cancel an order, for example if a book is out of stock or a price was shown incorrectly. If this happens, you will receive a full refund.
2.3 Please check your order and delivery address carefully before you pay. I cannot be responsible for orders sent to an incorrect address that you provided.

3. Payment
Payment is taken when you place your order, through Stripe.. I do not see or store your card details.

4. Dispatch and Delivery
4.1 Orders are dispatched within 2 to 5 working days of payment being received. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date.
4.2 Delivery costs are shown at checkout. Orders are sent by[Royal Mail.
4.3 Delivery times after dispatch depend on the carrier, and can be longer during busy periods, such as before Christmas.
4.4 I am not responsible for delays caused by the carrier or by events outside my control. If your order has not arrived within 7 working days of dispatch, please email me at www.nanatomova.com/contact and I will look into it.
4.5 Due to rules of postage internationally, I can only post within the UK
4.6 Risk in the books passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave.

5. No Refunds Policy
5.1 All sales are final. I do not offer refunds or exchanges if you change your mind about a purchase, bought a book by mistake, or already own a copy.
5.2 This does not affect your legal rights, as explained in clauses 6 and 7.

6. Your Legal Right to Cancel
6.1 If you are a consumer buying online, you have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the books, without giving a reason.
6.2 To cancel, please email me at www.nana.tomova.com/contact within the 14 days, stating your name and order details.
6.3 You must return the books to me within 14 days of telling me you wish to cancel. The books must be unused and in perfect, resalable condition, in suitable packaging. You will need to pay the cost of returning them. Please keep proof of postage, as you are responsible for the books until they reach me.
6.4 Once I receive the books back and have checked their condition, I will refund the price of the books and the standard delivery cost within 14 days. I may reduce the refund if the books have been damaged or handled more than is needed to check them.
6.5 Books that have been personalised or inscribed at your request cannot be returned under this right, as they are made to your specification. Standard signed copies are not affected, unless they have been personalised for you.

7. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Books
7.1 Please check your books when they arrive. If a book arrives damaged, has a printing fault, or is not the book you ordered, please contact me within 14 days, with your order number and a photo of the problem.
7.2 In these cases I will, at my cost, replace the book or give you a full refund, including delivery costs, as you prefer.
7.3 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, as described and fit for purpose.

8. Personalised and Signed Copies
8.1 If you would like a book signed or inscribed, please give me the exact wording and spelling in the order notes. I cannot be responsible for errors in the information you give me.
8.2 Personalised books cannot be returned under clause 6, but clause 7 still applies if there is a fault with the book.

9. Copyright
The text, illustrations and design of the books are protected by copyright. Buying a book does not give you the right to copy, reproduce or distribute it, in whole or in part, without written permission from the copyright holders.

10. Privacy
Personal information you give me will be used only to process your order and communicate with you about it, in line with my privacy policy.

11. Changes to these Terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force at the time of your order apply to it.
