POSTPONED The Cairngorms: Ritual of Grief and Blessing
Sat 01 Aug
|Glenmore Visitor Centre Car Park
This event is a ritual to bless and to grieve for the beloved Cairngorms land that burned for 4 days and 4 nights. It is a landscape with ancient trees loved by many. It is a chance to tend to the land and offer hope. There will be stories, poetry and collective holding of this beautiful landscape.

Time & Location
01 Aug 2026, 16:00 – 18:00 BST
Glenmore Visitor Centre Car Park, Aviemore PH22 1QU, UK
About the Event
We will meet at the car park and walk to the land near Ryoavan Bothy and Lochan Uaine
Please bring:
a poem to read out during the ceremony
If you are so called out to do, please bring an offering: this could be your hair, water, or dried herbs (which must be local and from the park itself in, in order to avoid contamination and disease to local plantlife)
In the spirit of the event, there will be no fire, and no incense. We will instead concetrate on the other three elements, air, water and earth, to balance out the fire element.
The vent if free, with the option to leave a donation. All donations (minus card handling fee, about 2-3%) will be donated to RSPB Scotland
Please email me first if you are intending to bring children or well behaved dogs.
In the circumstance that the location still remains restricted on the 1st August, an alternative date will be provided.
